Your Equine Photography Experience is all about creating beautiful images that capture the relationship between you and your horse — naturally, creatively and without feeling rushed.
Sessions can take up to two hours, giving us plenty of time to relax, settle your horse and explore different ideas. I recommend choosing a familiar environment where you and your horse already feel comfortable. When everyone feels safe and relaxed, that’s when the magic really happens.
And don’t worry if you’ve never had professional photographs taken before.
We’ll capture a mixture of beautiful portraits of your horse, photographs of the two of you together and those spontaneous little moments that show their personality.
No two Equine Photography Experiences are ever the same, and that’s what makes them so special. Together, we can create a beautiful variety of images that capture different sides of you, your horse and the connection you share.
I suggest you bring up to three different outfits, giving us the freedom to create a collection that feels completely personal to you.
– CASUAL –
Your favourite jumper or jacket with trousers, jodhpurs and boots. Scarves, hats and other accessories can add a lovely touch.
– SMART –
A favourite jacket with a blouse or shirt, fitted trousers or jodhpurs and smart long boots.
– ELEGANT –
Go all out if you want to! A beautiful floaty summer dress, an elegant winter gown — or even your wedding dress. Some clients have loved the opportunity to wear theirs all over again.
Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel like you.
If your horse is dark in colour, I recommend avoiding very dark clothing so that you both stand out beautifully in the finished images.
Think of it as getting ready for a show.
A beautifully groomed, clean and shining coat, with mane and tail brushed through, will help your horse look their absolute best.
It’s also worth giving your tack some extra attention. Clean tack photographs beautifully, and a simple, level headcollar with a matching plain lead rope can create a lovely polished look.
Don’t worry about making everything absolutely perfect, though. I’ll work with you and your horse exactly as you are.

An absolute fab photographer: James did our wedding and he is AMAZING at what he does! James is very organised and creative, and pre-plans photo shoots which is so handy on the day.
